The magic of Alabaster

Alabaster has the ability to transfer light through its stone-body. This gift is expressed after I chisel, sculpt, file and sand, polishing the body of the stone. Days of playful, free creation through ceremony brings the magic of the stone out to be visible to our eyes. The blessing and teaching of this, to me, is a metaphor for us, humans. 

If we choose to sculpt ourselves, chiseling aways what is not needed, we transform, and light can shine through us.
